The article does a good job until it goes off the rails with “The Nobels have awarded three physics prizes in total to women, out of 210 laureates. Chemistry is doing slightly better, as five women are laureates (of 181 total). Medicine is better yet: 12 entire women (of 216 laureates).”
Obviously women should be receiving exactly 49.585% of the Nobel awards (World Bank estimate of worldwide people are who are female).
They are willing to launch STEM careers for women for free, even provide token jobs for them to appear “diverse”, and most still have no interest in them.
I’ve known a few bright women in STEM fields; it is insulting to them, and a diminishment of their accomplishments, to politicize those sectors.
