If Bibi can pull Lieberman’s party in he’ll have enough seats to be Prime minister. But they have a strained relationship and that might not be possible unless Bibi makes major concessions. Word is Lieberman wants military action in Gaza with strong action against the terrorists launching rockets into Israel. Bibi may have no choice but to accommodate him. Lieberman has come out of this in the strongest position and is holding the cards.
Thanks for your analysis.
Libermans condition is the end of draft exemption for religious students, and various other secular Leftist demands.
From what Ive seen, Liberman is demanding a unity government to freeze out the religious parties, or wants to hold a third election.
I've been wondering just what Lieberman does want out of this. But whatever that is, isn't he closer to Bibi and Likud's policies than he is to the other leading vote getter? And doesn't his party control fewer than ten seats?
