The following is an interesting lesson re-enforcing the errors that happen when things are filtered through others.
My initial briefing aboard ship in the Navy with about 10 sailors: The first sailor was told privately, "All non-duty hands are to muster on the flight deck at 1200 hours to observe a total eclipse of the Sun." Then he told another individual the same command in private and so on.
The final order as quoted by the 6th sailor was, "The Captain requests all personnel to gather on the Hangar Bay at 2400 hours for a Moon eclipse indoctrination." That's why military repeats orders. Remember, this was just within minutes and not 30 years ago.
“Remember, this was just within minutes and not 30 years ago.”
LOL yes, we played that game in 1st grade or so. We called it telephone and it went through a class of 25 or so 1st graders. What came out at the end didn’t even share one word with the original statement. :)
