My child was diagnosed with non-classic congenital adrenal hyperplasia, a side effect of which is hyperandrogenism. She is one of the unfortunate 12% that also experience gender dysphoria due to the extraordinarily high levels of free floating adrenal androgens in her system. They are attaching to the androgen receptors in her brain and being recognized as testosterone.
There is no cure for her condition.
She will not need reassignment surgery. Her hyperandrogenism is masculinizing her body for her. It is painful watching my formerly beautiful baby girl morph into a man. Masculine body hair, her back spreading out like a man, a man’s neck muscles and legs, her once heart-shaped face squaring out along the jawline.
Not all trans people are nuts. Some are genuinely androgynous and wouldn’t wish their condition on their worst enemy.
Just remember there are transgenders and trans-trenders. Trans-trenders are the attention seeking rubes. True transgenders just want to be left alone or be judged by the measure of their character, not the shell they can’t control.
