Exactly! No state,or group of states, should have any say when it comes to things like emissions or firearms.Any such regulations should come from DC and then have their Constitutionality confirmed,or knocked down,by the courts.

steps toward establishing one nationwide set of fuel-economy standards

I've got a great idea for that. The fuel-economy standard should be . . . whatever the hell the customer thinks he can afford, and wants it to be. With the automaker as the exclusive arbiter of whatever the hell he feels like building.

Sound refreshing--like, not a police state run by dorks?

Excellent, they have been screwing up cars and motorcycles for the rest of the country for decades with their regualtions. Makers just burdened everyone with the lousy economy, performance, and added cost for all the smog crap.

Long time ago, you searched out a "49 state" model for good reason.

HEADLINE: “Trump Admin to Revoke California’s Power to Set Its Own Auto Emission Rules”

FIRST SENTENCE: “The Trump administration is poised to revoke California’s authority to set auto mileage standards”

So which is it? And this is what’s become of the media.

About time to smack down individual states, and cities, imposing their own immigration laws, as well.
Why haven’t all these so called “sanctuaries” been held to the same standard?

Wasn’t there already a lawsuit that California brought during Ws administration that said they could have more restrictive emissions than the EPA demanded?

If this action slows down, or stops, the insane car company rush to produce all-electric vehicles, stockholders of those car companies will owe President Trump for saving their investments.

The push to EV’s is doomed to fail. They depend too much on subsidies, and the infrastructure will never be in place to support an all-EV transportation system, or at least for decades.

Maybe someday when most electric power comes from nuclear, but not before that. It sure as hell isn’t going to come from wind and solar in sufficient amounts, ever.

That's good because our Commie, gay Guv wanted to link to Cali standards.

It would be the only "standard" he ever endorsed.......

Yeah, state rules are too big.

Should allow localities to have power though.
LA Basin is insanely polluted.

La residents should be required to only own electric vehicles.
Smog has always been a problem there.
When you look around it’s like you’re inside a huge brown pipe.

Of course requiring the whole state to work under rules that are only good for the LA Basin is silly and overbearing.

UAW to go on strike after negotiations with GM fall through

My post at #16

Strip all of the unnecessary protectionist regulations and
several car companies will emerge overnight then
real competition will cause the price of vehicles to plummet.
Anyone got a few mill they can lend me to get one started?

Wow! I saw this coming three days ago.

The administration should also stop permitting states to specify their own gasoline formulations.
