Again, there’s a wide spectrum of war. Just because we don’t execute thieves any more doesn’t mean we shouldn’t put them in prison. Israel’s attack on Osirak nuclear reactor kept Saddam from ever developing a working nuclear weapon.

You’ve confused war with nation-building. We can bounce the rubble at a much lower cost.

So if we are going to pursue a glorified game for tag I supppose the proper reaction would be cripple Iran’s oil production. Which we don’t need to do because our sanctions IIRC have already done that.
