During a town hall style interview with WMUR 9 Friday, former Vice President and 2020 Democrat Presidential Candidate Joe Biden came out against the Supreme Court's ruling on District of Columbia v. Heller.
“Do you agree with the DC vs Heller decision in regards to protecting the individual right to bear arms that are in common use and which are utilized for lawful purposes?” Biden was asked.
"The answer is," Biden Said. "If I were on the court I wouldn't make the same ruling. Okay?"

The Heller ruling, which was decided 5-4, confirmed the individual right to keep and bear arms is protected by the Second Amendment.
"The Second Amendment protects an individual right to possess a firearm unconnected with service in a militia, and to use that arm for traditionally lawful purposes, such as self-defense within the home," the 2008 Supreme Court ruling states.
"It has always been widely understood that the Second Amendment, like the First and Fourth Amendments, codified a pre-existing right. The very text of the Second Amendment implicitly recognizes the pre-existence of the right and declares only that it 'shall not be infringed,'" the late Justice Antonin Scalia stated in his majority opinion. "There seems to us no doubt, on the basis of both text and history, that the Second Amendment conferred an individual right to keep and bear arms."
Biden's comments come at a time when Democrats are vowing to confiscate lawfully owned firearms through government force.

I wonder if Joe thinks about violent places like Vermont, Maine, New Hampshire, the Dakotas, and even Switzerland when formulating such an opinion.
If subsequent polling indicates that this is a big loser in swing states, Joe will shift back to supporting Heller, with some qualifications. He’ll do whatever his handlers tell him he has to do to maximize his chances of election.

But this is not better. We have a major party, one that controls the house, that is openly advocating Socialism and repeal of the 2nd amendment.
That they aren’t run out of the country by their own party members tells you how far we have slid as a country, How poorly educated our citizenry are on the reasons our Founding Fathers protected our rights, and how Capitalistic societies have fared compared to socialist ones historically.
It’s better for Trump’s reelection chances.

Status quo. The courts were operating on the collective rights interpretation for decades, in open defiance of SCOTUS, and SCOTUS allowed it to go on.
All three federal government institutions are for the federal government. What did you expect?
As for "socialism," that's a lazy man's label. Government can control the people without owning all the means of production. Control comes in many forms.
Trump is the ONLY president who has managed to reduce the extent of federal regulation. Both parties are in favor of "doing something," which means pass more laws and regulations.

They’ll simultaneously claim that due to the “emanations and penumbras” that the Constitution requires sex change operations for illegal aliens on death row, but the plain, black letter law in clear language, why, that was never the intent for individuals to possess the means of self-defense. It is just insanity, over and over. Joe might have given an honest answer, but a good interviewer would have followed up a bit. The founders were very clear on the subject, as was their intent. Don’t have to like it, but they need to change the law, instead of trying to weasel their way out of this.

“Shall not be infringed” means everyone has the right to own a weapon or gun. We pray Trump can continue to appoint Federal judges who believe the right to own guns shall not be infringed!!
It is the judges that do not understand the simple words of shall not be infringed who are the problem.
This really isn’t news. We already know that every liberal gun-grabber would appoint judges who disagree with Heller.
