Robert Francis O’Rourke has actually threatened all law-abiding gun owners with his rhetoric, literally. When he says he IS going to take guns he is putting the gun owners at risk of physical assault and/or death when they refuse to give up guns they legally own, with which they have not broken the law and have no intention of breaking the law and are protected by the 2nd Amendment. THAT is a death threat.
To be fair, in previous generations Francis has been a common male name. Not that Roberta, the ersatz hispanic, couldn't reverse that.
I think of Francis Marion, a hero of the revolution, the legendary "Swamp Fox", who is considered one of the pioneers of guerrilla warfare. The British despised and feared him.

An “If, Then” statement is not a threat.
If you kick down my door at 2am, and show intent to attack my family, I will shoot you. The threat is predicated upon some violent first act.
IF Beto comes to his house, and tries to steal, he might encounter resistance. Simple factoid.
“My AR is ready for you Robert Francis.” sounds more like compliance to the demand than any threat.
For the South Carolina primary he’ll go by Bobbie Frankie.
