In an appearance Wednesday on CBS-TVs The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Maine horror novelist Stephen King was sharply critical of U.S. Sen. Susan Collins, R-Maine.
King, who has frequently assailed Republican politicians including President Trump on Twitter, told Colbert that he wanted a senator with a little bit more of a liberal bent.
She claims to have a liberal bent. But really, thats not true, King said, clenching his fist in the air.
Colbert held up a photo of a King tweet from a few days earlier that read, Hey-hey, ho-ho, Susan Collins has got to go.

Steven King wrote a book called “Rage”. The first famous school shooter, the “I don’t like Mondays” one, referred to this novel. So did several of the other earlier school shooters. There is LOTS of blame to go around, the media, various government policies, etc. but Steven King invented the concept and presented it to the collective consciousness.
I still like his books, the “Bill Hodges” trilogy is among my favorites, and now the “Holly Gibney” character in “The Outsider” is just a genius creation. But many people fail to understand that having genuine talent in one field doesn’t make that person an expert or authority on political affairs.
Such a simple truth, why do so many people get suckered in? I think the guy who repairs my truck is very skilled at what he does but I could care less what he thinks about politics.
it’s called “Rage” it was taken out of print after it became obvious what Steven King had caused. It is difficult and expensive to find now.
Hes a post-word-processor typist with diarrhea of the fingers.
Ive never been able to get through one of his short stories, much less one of his insufferable novels.
All this from a guy who actually wrote an entire book about a Buick.
Lol! I wish it WOULD have been a Neil Simon film! I like him too! Loved the original Odd Couple!
That Seinfeld, IIRC, included “The Kramer”.
I’ll have to call in the professionals to verify.
They shoulda stuck to Letterman in a Velcro suit.
As a long time republican, I must say I agree with you!
Just finished The Outsider. I really enjoyed it. Decided to check out Mr. Mercedes and start reading about Holly’s Bill Hodges.
Who cares what this brain damaged fool thinks
Shut Up and Write.
I live in Maine. Susan Collins will easily win re-election, in spite of million dollars that will flood into Maine from out-of-state mentally moonbats unhappy with her Brett Kavanaugh speech and vote.
Stephen King is a walking cauldron of hatred.
An over-rated writer. Not quite as over-rated as Clive Cussler, but close.
Nothing beats those commercials with James Patterson hawking his latest thriller. He comes across as if he hasn’t even read the book, let alone having written it.
Oh, dang, that’s right. I read that one, too; he wrote it under his pseudonym Richard Bachmann.
I wish Steve King would get run over by Christine, that evil car. Read that, I think my brothers could write a better novel...
I hadn’t read any King for about 20 years so checked it out of the library because it was available and short. It is beyond terrible. Without touching on any political bias, it’s just a bad book, poorly written, lousy ending and the writer’s voice screams out all through it, “I’m so woke, aren’t I great?” Don’t waste your time.
It would be far better to read Koontz’s “Watchers” again. Love that book!
