Updated Sept. 11, 2019 | President Donald Trump is reshaping the federal judiciary at a staggering rate with the help of Republican Senate leaders with 150 judges confirmed, including two Supreme Court justices.
Appointment Scorecard
Circuit Courts of Appeals
4* vacant seats
6 pending nominations
43
confirmed judges
U.S. District Courts
91 vacant seats
47 pending nominations
105 confirmed judges
In his first two years, Trump appointed more judges to the appellate bench than any of the previous five presidents, according to a report by Lambda Legal, tapping dozens of conservative lawyers for influential seats on U.S. circuit courts around the country. That pace quickened in 2018 when he more than doubled the number of circuit judges from the year before, the LGBTQ rights group found.
Trumps success in securing lifetime appointments for right-leaning jurists owes much to the shrewd politicking from Republican Senate leaders, who have fast-tracked the presidents nominees to the chagrin of Democrats.

A legacy that lasts for ever and ever to the end of time.
Trump and Yurtles goal should be to leave the next administration with almost no picks to fill.
One concern is District court judges. They still need approval from Dem legislators unlike Appeals and Supreme Court. Dem legislators are not approving district names put forth by Trump. That is where most of the vacant nominees are being held up.
Appeal court nominees are moving forward well.
