I think our restaurants have been at a real disadvantage because people could go to grocery stores and buy the same thing you can get at a restaurant tax free at the grocery store. He seriously said this?

He seriously said this? Hard to believe, isn't it? No sense trying to save money dining at home when store-bought provisions are so expensive that restaurants can compete with them.

Yes, and the sad thing was if you bought actual prepared foods (i.e. sandwiches, grinders, etc) at a grocery store you still paid sales tax. He is just a puppet.
