Are supermarkets ready to process this tax?

I'm sure they're ready. They're already charging us 10 cent for paper bags and plastic has been banned.

CT supermarkets are *not* ready from what I've heard via the local media. They've actually been completely caught off guard re this new 'tax', and have been scrambling to reprogram all their computers.

The plastic bag ban is SO stupid. I see many more people now in the plastic trash bag aisles buying plastic bags to line their small wastebaskets. We all still use plastic bags for kitchen trash, etc. obviously.

I now use *extra* plastic at the grocery stores. Any food item that might leak or "sweat", I wrap in FREE produce department plastic bags. Why should I clean up the damn mess in my reusable bags??

Five miles north of me I can shop in Massachusetts and get all the plastic shopping bags I want. Just crazy.

Eff Connecticut!
