President Trump in June chose not to respond to Irans downing of an unmanned U.S. drone with a strike that military advisers told him might kill hundreds of Iranians, inviting escalation that would increase the risk to American military personnel in the region.
This month, the President announced his consideration of a peace agreement that could lead to withdrawal of our nearly two decade-long troop presence in Afghanistan.
On both occasions, among those most critical of the Presidents actions was our own Congresswoman Liz Cheney.
President Trumps failure to respond to this kind of direct provocation that weve seen now from the Iranians could in fact be a very serious mistake, Cheney told a national radio audience in June. I think its very important for all of our decision makers to recognize that weakness is provocative and that failing to respond is potentially far more dangerous here in the message that the Iranians will take from that.
More recently, she complained that adoption of the peace agreement Trump is pursuing would be conceding defeat to al Qaeda."
In each case, we respectfully but strongly disagree. We urge Cheney to stop publicly criticizing our Republican commander-in-chief and seemingly pushing the U.S. toward yet another endless war in the Middle East, where the men and women of Americas armed forces have already been deployed and dying in Afghanistan and Iraq for a generation.

Wyoming, like South Carolina should elect some people who side with the citizens and the rule of law.
There is no sane reason for such red states to be represented by Cheap Labor Express stooges.
Does she gain financially as long as ME wars continue?
Knowing how Trump operates I don’t get excited at anything he does concerning other countries. He makes a fake move and wins the game. It’s just fun to watch him.
I used to feel very differently about foreign attacks and interference than I do now. I no longer think we have to immediately react and destroy any perceived enemy. I say there is much to be gained by exploring other means to even the score, and these days, that usually means economic, via sanctions and/or trade tariffs when at all possible.
If we remain in a perpetual state of first level Hot War with developed nations, we suffer too. We drain our financial resources, and show little short term benefit. We build up enmity of other nations, waiting for their chance to ‘get even’ in some manner. As I said, it’s time to explore other solutions besides Carpet Bombing countries far away. That doesn’t make us cowardly, it makes us realistic.
To my dismay, there are far too many knee jerk so-called Conservatives that haven’t a clue about the truth behind your simple but accurate statement.
Unfortunately the vast majority of republicans and conservatives (yes, there is a distinct difference) have never bothered to read and study our President.
They are too damned lazy and content in their preconceived ideas.
Lazy fools. Making asinine statements from positions of complete ignorance.
I too think that it is time to shut down War, Inc.

You’re right. President Trump’s legacy will be that he showed his successors that the peaceful way to resolve issues internationally is by using the tarrifs that the founders envisioned to deal with unfair market forces as well as international aggressors.
She will after leaving political office....it is called "Legislative Capture".
Get the F out!
Bomb the **** bout of them and get the F out.
Obama got thousands of our guys killed.
Trump talks when it’s needed...and bombs when it’s needed.
I kind of evolved the same way. I am amazed at the facts I knew, when I was young, that were false.
Hey, I've done that! 'Course I was quite young. Adults do it, it is unseemly and disappointing.
Another female politician with a voice like nails on a chalkboard. That and her love of war and her obvious disdain for the president turns me off.
Liz needs to STFU sometimes!
