There are other reasons Section 8 is often bad news..

Plus they tend to damage the property, carry on illegal activities at the residence, crime in the neighborhood goes up, etc. I had a friend that had a very nice home in a good neighborhood, after the housing crisis, someone rented a house there to a section 8, and it ruined the entire neighborhood.

My guess is these legislators have never rented to a section 8 family.

Yah, you get your rent but it doesn’t make up for the damage they do.

Then when they leave and move on to destroy someone else’s property they leave your house full of trash and filth.

You are typically in the hole at least a few thousand dollars of repairs and clean up. Probably some pest control services as well.

Most of these vermin don’t care about your property because they know that they will not be held responsible for the damage they do.
