I did a lot of channel-flipping yesterday, and I caught quite a few local 9/11 memorial stories. Now here’s the thing. None of them mentioned who or what was behind the attacks.

So if you didn’t know any better, you’d think that those buildings were destroyed by an accidental fire, or something like that.

I posted the editorial from the Coeur d’Alene Press yesterday and made that exact point. Everywhere it was nothing more than weepy, maudlin “never forget” garbage that were in the vein of “some people did something.” In many places it was far worse, like the NYT where “some planes flew into the towers.”

What is it, exactly, that we are supposed to “Never forget”?
