Don’t be so literal.
Okay, yes northern Maine is sparsely populated. Similar to the fact that northern NV is sparsely populated. Similar to the fact the all of Wyoming is sparsely populated outside of Jackson and Casper. Lastly, Alaska is sparsely populated outside of Anchorage or Fairbanks.
What I was trying to point out is that generally people outside of the northeastern US do not understand that this area is not crowed like NYC, Boston or Philadelphia. That there is a lot of open country even in states like New York where I grew up.
Maine is not that much different than Oregon. The majority of the population lives in or around Portland and a couple other smaller cities. Outside in the rural areas the economies are supported by lumber, paper, forestry, agriculture and fishing. That the rural folks out in the country are salt of the earth types that vote conservative. Unfortunately, they are out voted by the people that lie in the cities and surrounding suburbs.
Another point is that everybody in the Midwest and south thinks that everyone in New England is a Liberal. Based on the 14,000 people that showed up in Manchester for the Trump rally, I would beg to differ.
Here is another example of a gentlemen from Springfield, Ma visiting someone here in southern NH.
I am not sure exactly why he decided to threaten to stab their toy dog. At least he is being held in the Manchester jail now for potential deportation by ICE.
A Happy ending.
