"Either way, her treatment by the Democrats is shameful."

In other words, a typical liberal operation.

If she was black, the left and the media would be smothering her with love. Liberals aren’t as friendly to certain minorities. Harvard is a good example.

They’re not compatible. One is antiwar and the other is the second coming of John McCain.

By 2024 the Democrat Party will have become that much more radical and won’t have any use for her.

Agree. A loss in 2020, even a significant one, won’t moderate or refocus the party one bit. The radicals who control the party and its agenda will soon be increasing their numbers in the House.

“Really just in understanding the role of government,” Gabbard replied, describing her position as “more libertarian.”

“Government really shouldn’t be in that place of dictating to a woman the choice that she should make.” Gabbard continued, “I think that there should be some restrictions, though.”

Silly Girl... there is NOTHING "libertarian" about the modern Democratic party... let alone that you cannot allow ones liberty to be the justification for another's oppression. Claiming a woman's "liberty" allows her to oppress another's fundamental right to life, is nothing but a complete bastardization of the very concept of liberty. But that's a fundamental problem with the entire "libertarian" stand on Abortion in the first place. Me thinks her voting has more to do with desiring to keep her seat from liberal HI, then it does her personal beliefs.... I think maybe she just wanted a career in politics, so she knows what she has to do being from Hawaii... she no hard core conservative, but she is clearly not in the mainstream of her party either.

Radicals fought a decades long battle to seize control of the Democrat Party. Hillary’s crash and burn gave them their opportunity, and they are not letting go.

Time is on their side and they know it. Sometime within the next 10 to 15 years enough of us will have died to tip the electoral control to Socialist Millenials.

They will just bide their time and wait for shifting demographics to catch up with them.

Rats are never actually “anti war”, they just want America to lose. I’m not certain that’s incompatible with Romney.

If Trump wins in 2020, changes the tilt of the USSC, and loads the courts up with young, conservative judges then its going to be a bit harder for the Dems to remain on the glide path they are on. But in general, I agree with you.

She has PLENTY of time...so she’s prepping for 2024.

She knows that she can’t beat the current crowd of braying Leftists - when one or a few go down, their voters go to the other ones.

She knows that she cannot beat Trump, even if she somehow got the Dem nomination.

But, I imagine her reasoning, when Trump so trounces the Leftist jackwagon of 2020 so badly that it forces the Dem Party to completely reassess how they approach both issues and campaigning, the stage will be set for a moderate with a strong national security background to pull in a lot of fence-sitters. That she’s a she isn’t going to be a negative for her (not unless she gets a blood transfusion or a marrow donation from the Witch of Chappaqua).

There is precedent for this - Jimmy Carter, a decided moderate (or so he presented himself), picked up the shattered pieces of the Dem Party after Nixon completely schlonged the Leftist McGovern.

What scares me about this is that we usually switch parties in the Presidency every 8 years, and ANY Dem that is elected - no matter how genuinely moderate - will bring along an entire cadre of Leftists for the Cabinet and other high level positions, and will also fill the courts with uber-activist judges - because that is about 98% of the Dem Party and their lobbyists.

Tulsi’s got Thomas Lifson & Kylie Zempel writing about her, & Dave Rubin is interviewing her.

She’s playing the tired old, “I personally don’t favor baby killing, but who am I to judge babykillers?” trope.
Plus, she’s tossing around the L-word: libertarian.

Sounds like a third party strategy.

Does she have money backing her?

Abortion kills a person whether it is the morning after or late term. There is no difference whatsoever. Arguments over whether there is a heartbeat or if there’s pain involved are evil

She’s no pro life champion

I will never vote for any Democrat until and unless their standard-bearer says and genuinely believes something close to this:

“Government has three primary functions. It should provide for military defense of the nation. It should enforce contracts between individuals. It should protect citizens from crimes against themselves or their property. When government— in pursuit of good intentions tries to rearrange the economy, legislate morality, or help special interests, the cost come in inefficiency, lack of motivation, and loss of freedom. Government should be a referee, not an active player.”

Milton Friedman

I guess that means that I will never vote for a Democrat, even if I were to live to 200.

Independent run? Perhaps. That would make her a spoiler and almost certainly assure a Trump second term.

:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

All you have to do is read the threads here about her to know that she will take more votes from Trump than any Dem candidate. IOW, supposedly ‘strong’ conservatives like her. RINO’s who oppose Trump will love her. But the democrat party has gone full blown nuts and they are voting for whoever is the dem candidate. And if Gabbard ran as an independent and got in the debates, she would go after Trump much more than the dem and she obviously is pretty good at debating and just her appearance seems to lure men away. Careful what you wish for.

“Sorry but Tulsi is an adult an chose her path. Anyone who embraces the label “Democrat” is morally flawed and can never be trusted by decent people.”

This is absolutely true! Being a “Democrat” is an immediate disqualifier for any politician. I wouldn’t even vote for a “Democrat” for dogcatcher.

I don’t trust her. She thinks she is hot sh*t and will say anything to get elected and women fidiots would flock to her. She is very dangerous and would only have a Feminist administration

I have to agree, but if she ran against somebody like Romney or that jerk that was governor of Ohio whose name I forget, I’d at least consider voting for her. Especially if she lies about wanting to kill babies.

Any day now she is going to find out what the democrat party really is (crimminal enterprise/mafia).

She will be told to get with the program, or else.

She is a Lib through and through and is over-rated. I find it funny how people are still so easy to fall into the nice face, smooth talking politician trap. Say all the nice things to get elected then flip when governing. Haven’t we learn anything in the Trump era?

“Despite exceeding the threshold for individual donations, and 4 poll results above 2%, she was excluded from the debate stage in Houston this week on the flimsy pretext that there was something wrong with some of her polls, so the DNC would not recognize them. The exact criteria for recognizing a poll remains unstated by the Democrats”

absolutely NONE of the above is true: the set of polls recognized by the DNC is well-known by the candidates and anyone else who bothers to find out:

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1dHSFg0jrAeIAqDlFZqAu-5N2x-wk8PT-6H4DbCendUM/edit#gid=1555665298

note that gabbard got 2% in only ONE of the THIRTY polls recognized by the DNC ...

it’s a shame that these kinds of lies continue to be posted at FR ...
