There exists in China a Social Credit system, which is used to decide an individual's status as regards the state. This system works much like a traditional credit score does in the way of permitting you credit to make purchases. Each individual is granted an original score of 1000, and loses points for each social offense. Social score decides what you can do and even what you can be punished for.
First implementation began in 2014 and it is expected to be fully functional by 2020. Social Credit information shall be used, among other things, to check who will be permitted travel access. Tickets for planes and train, and even taxi rides, are subject to checking of your social credit.
The Chinese government is boasting about the social credit system, and how thus far they have prevented 2.5 million discredited entities from purchasing plane tickets and another 90,000 people from purchasing high-speed rail tickets in July.
The United Kingdoms YouTube host Paul Joseph Watson outlined in his video Chinas TERRIFYING Social Credit the everyday behaviors Chinese citizens are having their credit scores lowered for engaging in:
Bad driving, smoking on trains, buying too many video games, buying too much junk food, buying too much alcohol, calling a friend who has a low credit score, having a friend online who has a low credit score, posting fake news, criticizing the government, visiting unauthorized websites, walking your dog without a leash, letting your dog bark too much.
The number of people not able to purchase tickets for means of travel is soaring, and as of November 2018 the number was at 6.7 million Chinese citizens.
People all over the world, not just in China, are seeing similar actions take place. PayPal will close the accounts of anyone it does not agree with

Yes, this sort of thing will come to America. The liberals are dying to implement such a system to stifle debate and control us.
Just remember kids the only way they know what youre doing is if youre in one of their little groups
I do not exist on Facebook Instagram or any of these other bull crap sites
Somebody wants to know what I think they have to log onto free republic and then figure out who I am!
China’s “Social Credit System” was created for the Chinese government by Google.
Yes.
This REALLY SCARES THE CRAP OUTTA ME!! Come Lord Jesus!!
RE: This REALLY SCARES THE CRAP OUTTA ME!! Come Lord Jesus!!
Surprisingly, if you ask the Chinese, most of them seem ok be OK with it. Their reasoning is that it instills discipline on the ordinary citizen !!
One man’s hell is another man’s heaven...
Nope,not coming to America!
Trump back in 2020!
RE: Trump back in 2020
Yes, but Trump is not going to be President forever.
Will there be a political component to this?
Remember how recently, the Castro brothers in Texas were publicizing people in their area who were donors to Trump?
They claimed they had no nefarious intent, and that the donations were already public information.
Carried further, will we see dings to our social credit score if we are registered Republicans?
And apart from politics, will judgements be made about us, based on the car we drive? We are all in government databases for our car registrations.
Will there be demerits for our charitable contributions claimed on our income tax returns? Just how far will this eventually go?
I can foresee that once the liberals implement such systems here, you will get demerits for being a Republican, being on a site such as this one, assuming they can get their hands on that information, demerits for driving an “evil” vehicle such as an SUV, being a member of the NRA, and any indication that you are not supportive of liberal causes.
“Surprisingly, if you ask the Chinese, most of them seem ok be OK with it.”
Of course they would be, to say anything other in an oppressed communistic state might lower your social score or get you killed. Only “We like it” allows you to keep riding the train.
But the Chinese people have been raised under communism. While communism has weakened some with free market reforms in China, it is still a totalitarian government.
Trump waltzes back in 2020.
All about the economy.
“Somebody wants to know what I think they have to log onto free republic and then figure out who I am!”
I believe that is an incorrect statement. After reading it I logged out and re accessed FR without logging in. I went back to this thread, found your comment, clicked on your name and went to your page where I found your email address. Then I started to read the listing of all your past comments. All of this without being logged in.
Using online investigative tools anyone can discover your name and address by using your email address. By reading all of your posts they can pretty much figure out a social credit score based on your commentary over the years.
What many do not realize is FR is just as much of an open book as is Farcebook, Twitter or any other social network.
Anything we say or do on FR can and will be used against us. My advice to all: Watch what you say!
But he lays the foundation in for his successor.
They are planting seeds of a future revolt.
China was just the BETA version, a testing ground.
They needed to know the potential pitfalls and tech glitches from a test bed where there were few if any legal pitfalls.
Then they could tweak the resulting formula for somewhere more legally sensitive, less permissive:
THE UNITED STATES.

US social media has an emerging NOMENKLATURA system, and if your name is on the LIST of Thought Crime Persons, then it's okay for everyone to publicly threaten you with DEATH
“...buying too much junk food, buying too much alcohol,...”
If you pay cash for booze or a Big Mac, how is that detected by the state? Real question.
