If consumers want it, innovators will supply it to make customers happy. It's the beauty of capitalism. 330 million of us acting as judges of what's good, what works, and what's important. Dissolvable plastic--or some such-- was mentioned and will come to pass, imho. Show me one person in this country who wants to see piles of trash & plastic washing up on our shores or filling landfills ?
