This reminds me of a Youtube video I watched recently of a gay man that jumped from a Cruise Ship balcony after being accused of photographing kids. The man’s husband claimed the crew was throwing homophobic slurs at him and that a fight occurred where he was pushed over the rail of the room balcony. The crew claimed the man was being a drama queen and took things too far. The video shows he was either forced to let go of his grip of the life boat he was clinging from or he refused help and was avoiding the helping hand. It was ruled a suicide.

” It was ruled a suicide.”

Interesting the predominant thought process on the ship was he leaped over the rail of his state room balcony, but he had to have caught himself on the life boat on the way down as cruise ships don’t have lifeboats attached to the stateroom balcony railings. They are even on a separate deck. Either that or he landed on one by accident and then went the rest of the way by choice or assistance.

This must not have been one of the newer ships as the life boats are not set on the railings any more but are pushed up to the bulkhead where they can be moved out in to position.

Many of the cruise ships ar foreign registry and maritime law is a little different than the civil laws we know, or even the country of registration knows. Strange differences with the captain of the vessel being a monarch of the ship.
