I have to wonder. Could DJT be the last president under the Republic?

The old Roman Republic couldn’t continue after a series of civil wars. The empire of the Caesars restored public order and even observed some of the forms of the Republic, e.g. the continuation of a largely ceremonial Senate.

It seems to me that the American Left has grown so deranged, so dangerous to our Bill of Rights that it will have to be neutralized by extra-constitutional means.

For if there’s one thing the Left does astonishingly well, it’s using the Bill of Rights to subvert those very freedoms.

The Greek historian, Polybius, summarized a well known maxim of government evolution over 2,000 years ago:

Kings arise out of chaos (typically military leaders) who then morph into -> Tryrants, which is then opposed by

Aristocrats [thinkers] (our founders) who over time create an insider network (aka deep state) that turns into -> Oligarchs, which then ushers in the era of

Democracy, which then devolves into a -> mob, once again ushering in chaos & disorder, which births the next

Strongman/king

Polybius described this evolution 200 years before the Roman republic morphed into the empire. This type of government/national life cycle is as natural as one own's brief life.

It shouldn't be a shock, surprise or cause any other type of emotional engagement. Rather, all it requires is for one to ID where we are on the cycle, and plan/prepare accordingly.
