Sanford was my Congressman. He got beat in the primary and now we have a Dem Congressman. Sanford lacks energy. He craves the limelight. He poses absolutely no threat to Trump, but the MSM will beat a path to his door similar to what they are doing with Joe Walsh. The MSM needs a Rep surrogate to attack Trump. Flake and McCain are not around any more.

Kris is the best person for the job. Running in a Presidential year with Trump at the head of the ticket should give the Rep senate candidate a leg up. Ticket splitting will not be as big a deal in 2020.

The only Republican candidate who would need a leg up would be Kobach. Literally any other Republican nominee would cruise to a win. Why take the chance?
