For the last dozen years or so most U.S. airlines have outsourced major maintenance work to third world hellholes, where few mechanics are F.A.A. certified and inspections are shoddy. Mostly to China, Mexico, and El Salvador. All to cut labor costs, naturally. Combine that disturbing fact with the reality that jihadists like the Abdul in this story are employed as airline mechanics INSIDE our country, and the situation intolerable.
