Walmart doesn’t WANT open carry but they didn’t (can’t) outright ban it.

Walmart doesn’t WANT open carry but they didn’t (can’t) outright ban it.

In my state, the following rule applies: A private property owner has the right to prohibit individuals from carrying firearms on his or her property, whether concealed or otherwise, and regardless of whether the person is a CPL holder. If a person remains on the property after being told to leave by the owner, the person may be charged with trespassing.

So, since they're a private business, I believe they can make their stores non-open carry. Please note: they said nothing about concealed carry.

I live in a semi-rural area, but the big town is about an hour away. I would no sooner think of open carrying there than I would tucking my blouse in so people could see the butt of my pistol. That 's just asking for trouble from people who think they are entitled to a "scare-free" life.

Somebody would call the boys in brown, and the boys, being bored, would send half the force (like 15?) patrol cars just to watch the fun. No charges would be pressed, but the lectures would start with "What are you, a fool? Put that thing away! Nice gun, tho, where'd you get it? Which range do you shoot at?"

On the other hand, were I to go to my "village" (that's being generous) in my flannel nightgown, long down coat and knee-high Sorrels with a gas can and an AR strapped on my back, no one would look twice.

Gotta keep the arms visually appropriate.
