The brain trust here in Seattle wants to cut natural gas... well most if not all the new homes have natural gas installed on the East Side same with where I now live across the Sound. so what exactly are these homeowners and businesses supposed to do? Burn trash, cut down trees to warm the buildings and run the utilities like water heaters and gas stoves?

Insanity!

This is a whole new level of stupid and the scary thing is there will be mobs jumping on this train to make it happen.

“What does the average person do to deal with these crazies??”

They’re everywhere. Every legislature, city council, local, state and federal government. It’s a religion for them and they even have their own tax-funded radio empire, NPR.

Oh yea, cloudy Seattle can live on its solar panels alone - NOT. And they hate nuclear and every other economical fuel.

But hey, they will get what they really want. A place where the middle class, or below, cannot afford to live. Then they will demand more federal subsidies for mass transit so they can get their actual workers into and out of Seattle.

Is there any reliable research on the downsides of solar and wind schemes?

Hahaha.. Yeah, good luck with that....

Yes they sell forced air electric furnaces, and they cost a LOT more to keep your home warm....

These people are idiots.

But they don’t want clean energy abundance.

They want expensive limited energy.

How can they control you if you don’t need them?

By the way, abundant clean energy combined with vertical farming would end hunger forever in the world. But they don’t want that either.

You know the Grand Coulee Dam is a blight on the face of Mother Nature, disrupting the salmon runs, etc. It must be torn down and the Columbia River allowed to run free once again as Gaia intended...

This is a Seattle only situation at the moment, and I would be surprised if it passes. Seattle is certainly infested with moonbats, but O’Brien is very unpopular, so much so that he decided not to run for re-election and certain defeat. My prediction would be that if the council passes this idiocy there will be a referendum to nullify it.

“..I would be surprised if it passes.”

Please don’t be. The only reason I mentioned the other two counties is to identify that King country is the largest of the liberal voting group and the extent of how much of the state they “rule.” They will end up doing the same thing as they did with the football stadium. They will build it, then expect the people to pay it off while the owners collected well over 80% of the profits.

So don’t be surprised if it passes, and any referendum will be hammered by King County that always votes lockstep socialist.
