President Donald Trump has yet another seat to fill on the federal appeals court in Atlanta, giving him the chance to appoint almost half of the courts judges during his first term in office.
Judge Stanley Marcus became the latest member of the 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals to tell Trump he will take senior status with a reduced caseload. Marcus said he will become a senior judge when his successor is sworn into office or on March 2, whichever comes first.
The 73-year-old jurist first served on the U.S. District Court bench in Miami from 1985 to 1997, when he was elevated to the 11th Circuit in Atlanta.
Although Marcus was appointed by a Democrat, President Bill Clinton, he has often sided with the 11th Circuits conservative wing.

Nice!
Winning
The Atlanta Urinal Constipation has an article without Trump derangement. They cite the liberal/progressive issues. Abortion- they love it, Death Penalty - they hate it, Voting Rights - love fest (especially they hope for illegals). So what gives?
Are they saying it was conservative so it doesn’t matter?
The 11th Circuit is currently 6 Republican appointees and 6 Democrat appointees. Obama places 4 Judges on this circuit and almost flipped it. Trump has so far placed 3 judges on the 11th Circuit. The two who are taking senior status are a Ford appointee and a Clinton appointee. So when Trump gets two more judges confirmed here it will go back to a 7-5 majority appointed by Republicans.
Awesome!
I hope Trump’s pick is a young, strict-constructionist, original intent, Federalist Society member.
