Mugabe was a former guerrilla chief who took power after the end of white minority rule in 1980 and presided over a country whose early promise was eroded by economic turmoil and human rights violations. So in other words white rule worked.

I”m reminded of a story told by a Russian lady who had been sent to one of the worst of the gulags in Siberia. The announcement was made that Stalin had died and asked for a moment of silence - the response was one loud, lusty, joyous cheer from the inmates. Robert Mugabe was an evil man who stole billions, murdered thousands, stole farms and wrecked what was once the breadbasket of Africa - he can go to Hell and I would imagine he did just that.
