Mine was a Ryobi batter pack from Home Depot. Running on the Ryobi charger. It had charged many hours so was on “float” if they do that with these batteries.
This could SLOWLY release cyanide gas or other toxic gases from burning wiring coatings and SLOWLY contaminated the bunk area air supply rendering the sleepers unconscious.
Hopefully, the autopsies will reveal that these sleepers were unconscious prior to succumbing to smoke inhalation, burning and/or drowning. Can't bear to think these people were conscious in their final moments.
If this fire started ABOVE the bunk on the Galley floor, would not have one of the people outside the bunk area noticed this sooner? This is what makes me think this was a hidden fire INSIDE THE BUNK CEILING, or a 'sleeper fire' if you will.
Seems a long shot but a criminal act of arson could be a possibility.
WHO IS MISSING, anybody know? Is it the cook, Mikey Kohls? Anyone??? Missing cook = propane tank explosion?
Curious minds want to know!
My suspicion about arson is because the boat was burning from bow to stern BEFORE the captain and crew woke up.
I just don't see how that can happen without an explosion or some kind of fire accelerant.
This is a complicated puzzle for investigators, given the marred, soaked and/or destroyed evidence.
I'M GONNA SOLVE THIS THING!
I just realized that NONE of the crew members report hearing a smoke detector. Were the smoke detectors connected to the wiring system, or run by batteries?
If the smoke detectors were connected to the wiring system and DIDN'T function as they should, THIS WOULD INDICATE THEY MIGHT HAVE FAILED BECAUSE THE WIRING SYSTEM SUPPLYING THEM WITH VOLTAGE HAD SHORTED OUT AND CAUGHT FIRE!!
Mystery solved?
I recall the name but have not seen a post for a long time.
I checked the archive - the account was banned about two years ago.
I can't recall what her (his?) primary interests were, but I do recall her threads were fun to read and often approached border line nuclear war.
Butterdezillion made some interesting observations about that plane landing in the ocean where Loretta Fuddy inexplicably died AFTER surviving the ordeal.
I’m thinking that smoke alarms are required to run on batteries - specifically because of the risk of a general power failure.
But - I do not know that for certain.
I thought that too, but salty ocean air and batteries.. Do they get along well together? I would think not.
Youre off your meds
“Sorry, but, its what it is.
They have one job and one job only. The safety of the passengers.”
You must have missed what the crew said about what happened and how they tried desperately to get down to where the passengers were but all paths were blocked by flames and they were beaten back by those flames. It was so hot from those flames coming up from down below that they had to jump in the water or fry.
You sir, are a big jerk. And cruel to boot. You are looking for a scapegoat and you are wrong to do so, very wrong.
Sorry but they didn’t even have working smoke alarms.
Someone is going to prison.
It’s their business.
Wrong.
The investigators have made statements about every question I asked:
Screaming - No
Asphyxiated - Probably
Explosions - No
Smoke Alarms - Did not go off
Extent of Fire - Bow to stern when the crew woke up
“Someone is going to prison.
Its their business.”
Wanna bet? You’ll lose.
You sound pretty happy.
