U.S. Border Patrol agents seized over 1,200 pounds of marijuana in a single incident.
Late Monday evening, Border Patrol agents assigned to the Special Operations Detachment working near Fronton, Texas, observed several subjects carrying bundles of narcotics across the Rio Grande. As agents approached, the smugglers abandoned the bundles and fled to Mexico. A search of the area resulted in the seizure of over 1,200 pounds of marijuana worth an estimated street value of $979K.
Additionally, over the past three days, agents stopped five marijuana smuggling attempts resulting in the arrest of six narcotic smugglers and the seizure of over 930 pounds of marijuana, worth an estimated $745K.
Border Patrol will process all subjects accordingly.

I don’t smoke, I vape, and only 2-3 draws.
There isn’t any medical treatment besides PPIs and muscle relaxants in the acute case unless the condition worsens to Barrett’s Esophagus, etc.
I knew marijuana could be anti-spasmodic so I tried it out of desperation. Sure enough. I could actually feel the muscles relaxing during the second draw. What a relief!
BTW, the 2-3 draws from the vape is not enough to get me “high”. Maybe just the very beginning of it, but not ‘there’ yet.
I decided I don’t want to be intoxicated with the higher doses and I believe my religion strongly discourages it (intoxication from any source).
The 2-3 draws also help me get to sleep and stay asleep comfortably where other drugs/substances knock me out too forcibly and cause grogginess the next day.

Your conclusion doesn't follow from your premises. Illegal black-market alcohol is a negligible phenomenon, although it has no taxes and regulations and can be laced with other stuff. That's because the taxes and regs on alcohol are low enough to not overwhelm the economies of scale that only legal producers can enjoy - and because users of any drug are as a rule willing to pay at least a modest premium to get content-regulated product and stay on the right side of the law.
Marijuana is still illegal in most states - thus the illegal market.

I remember a similar story about cigarettes where the US citizens along the Canadian border were smuggling cigarettes into the Us to save money. The US governments (state and feds and local) were angry that they were losing out on the revenue.
Sorry — well regulated. Lol. I doubt that a user/buyer is concerned about “well regulated.” They just want the biggest bang for the buck — the biggest high.
However, you may be correct.... modern technology, growing and processing and manufacturing of the pot, all legal of course, produces massive amounts of THC.
After all the goal is to get the user high. The “health benefits” are secondary and were only a ruse to get people to accept pot as medicinal (a foot in the door). Back in the day, the percentage of THC was below 1% now it is 40%. A 40x increase. So, maybe legal pot is the “best value” if your goal is getting high. Yet, there is a demand for illegal pot.

I've read about that. Some entrepreneurs thought they would make a fortune, invested heavily in an expensive growing operation, only to realize later that pot is a weed that many consumers can grow in their yard.
The demand for illegal pot in those states still outlawing it is what is keeping the prices up.
This is where legal pot wins if you call it a win.
The whole process of growing and processing are getting so refined that there are massive amounts of THC.
And this is all very new because never before did pot have 40% THC and so there is very little information about the affects of massive amounts of THC on the human body (brain, liver, kidneys, etc. organs).
More health information should be available in the near future and I predict that it will not be good. Too much of anything is not good. Heck, drinking 100% alcohol is not good for you.
If I were a grower or a producer I'd be prepared for the day when there are massive class action litigation against all entities involved. It will happen; guaranteed.

Question: hey, another thought — can you buy legal pot with minimal THC? Comparable to the type that was available decades ago that everyone touted as healthful and medicinal? Maybe it was healthful, maybe it wasn't but that was then and this is now and it is reasonable to assume that 40% THC might be harmful.
Also, I wonder if the pot growers and producers have gone on record as stating that the massive amounts of THC, in the product that they sell, is harmless. Plus, the producers are using nasty chemicals (fertilizers, etc.) to increase their yields. Requires a hazmat suit to apply the chemicals. That stuff is being ingested too.
There is still no studies nor information on a large population of people consuming massive amounts of THC. But there will be.
Hey, maybe it is best to stay away from legal pot (with 40% THC) and find a dealer who will sell you naturally grown pot with (<1% THC). :)
Depends what you mean by "massive" - last time I looked, percentages as low as 13% were being legally sold.
It is comparable to only being able to buy hard, distilled, alcohol. Some people prefer wine and beer to whiskey.
