Wow. Doctors tend to over-prescribe those nasty drugs. The meds may be necessary but I wonder if doctors think about the post treatment plan. The patient develops a dependency and it may take several months to wean off of them of a drug once they are “hooked.”

My experience with doctors is that they tend to be glorified pharmacists and tend jump to the drugs solution vs trying to get to the root cause of a problem. Drugs should not be the end-all solution. However, drugs do work but may be required for the rest of the life of a patient. Not a good solution, IMO. Disclaimer: I am not a doctor nor do I play one on TV.

But, did you stay at a Holiday Inn Express?

Seriously, I agree doctors tend to treat the symptoms with drugs rather than finding and dealing with the root cause of the pain. You can't get much done with a 10 minute office visit.

I wonder if this patient was open carrying at the doctor's office??
