Correct. Its amazing how much disinformation is put out by the gun community. Having made several firearms, 80%, from parts kits, and from 4473 acquired receivers, I made it imperative that I was knowledgeable of all state and federal laws. I think a lot of the disinformation comes from a guy at the gun shop said sort of stuff. It is perfectly legal to make your own firearms so long as you are not making them for sale. There is also no requirement to serial debt them, although the BATF does suggest it as a good idea.

Or disinformation spewing from the media. They've been spiking the ball all day about this, as if it's somehow illegal even to possess parts to put something together without being a legit manufacturer. As if you were to have an AR15 BCG laying around on your desk, better expect a visit from a SWAT team. Shaking my head.
