One, there’s nothing left on the island to report on, and with the airport destroyed and nowhere to land a boat, it’s not exactly easy to get there at the moment.

Two, US media is rightfully focused on the fact that that same hurricane is at this very moment still at Cat 3, is sitting right next to Charleston SC, and is ready to make landfall at any moment.

The entire communications infrastructure was destroyed. Press could not even reach the people they pre-positioned there before the storm. It’s total devastation.

The journalism on Grand Bahama has gone to crickets. Why?

Hard to blame recovery efforts on Trump, it's not associated with the U'S' and Bahamians are not soon to be the largest voting bloc in the USA like Hispanics will. So in one word, or two; it's political.
