Let me see if I’ve got this right...

There was a Straight Pride parade. Some protesters (gays or their supporters) got out of hand and were arrested for disorderly conduct.

The DA, possibly in cahoots with the defense attorney, moved to have the case(s) dismissed.

The judge declined to allow the cases to be dismissed.

The defense attorney took umbrage and verbally accosted the judge.

The judge held the defense attorney in contempt.

That just about cover it?

That's about it. This was an arraignment hearing. The judge didn't buy the attorney's case of dismissal. The defense attorney began to read law text in the court. The judge warned her several times that she was in contempt. The attorney didn't stop until she was arrested.
