"has to be execution carried out publicly such as the guillotine, no later than 5 weeks after the crime. screw “cruel and unusual.” That will deter the large majority of them. Also bring back dads and discipline. The neutering of the western male by “strong females” (aka harpies who alienate dad then take his wallet with gov’t backing) are out of control"

Pence, is proposing something very dangerous and is not based on any sound logic in any way. Premeditated Murder is a crime in every state and is clearly defined. Trying to add the undefined "mass shooter" qualifier is the same as the ambiguous and purely subjective "hate crime". Ask yourself what is the definition of a "mass shooter" and how is this crime clearly differentiated from any other premeditated murder? Is a "mass shooter" someone who kills two or more people? What if the person clearly intended to kill more than one person but was stopped after he killed only one? What if someone kills someone else but there were many other people in the immediate area that could have been killed? are these "mass shootings".

What Pence is proposing is exactly the same as "hate crimes". It's something that can't be clearly defined by anyone yet will determine punishment for this crime. This is not justice and it opens the door for punishment that does not fit the crime or in fact is cruel and unusual.

In death penalty cases we don't rush because the punishment can't be undone. If a "mass shooter", something that can't be defined, is deserving of quick execution then ALL premeditated murder is deserving of quick execution.

Pence is demonstrating flawed and frankly liberal emotional type thinking.

I think all murder should be made federal crimes and taken out of the hands of the states to prosecute since there is too much mucking about at the local and state levels with the charges. Special streamlined federal courts can be set up to deal with the charges and forensics labs set up to deal with the complexities.

Pre-med murder violates the constitutional goal of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness and thus, it could be argued that it should be dealt with on a federal level.

This is a theoretical argument, not expecting it to be taken too seriously but if murder issues were dealt with on the federal level, it least it simplifies who we can hold responsible for when these a’holes get off scott free. We can hold the federal legislature, the executive and the judicial branches directly responsible for any misjustice. The local and the state levels just aren’t handling the murder stuff very well and it needs to be taken out of their hands.(plus murder investigations on a federal level might flush out a who lot of state and local dirty dealing officials who are behind a lot of those murders)

Yeah I know about the corrupt FBI, they need to be re-structured.

it’s obvious the pendulum has swung to the other extreme where criminals stay on death row for decades. it’s time the pendulum swung back the OTHER way.
