Absolutely not.
Evacuation orders are made ahead of the storm before anyone is certain exactly where it will land. But with a Cat 5 hurricane bearing down on the Florida coast just miles off shore, evacuation orders were the right thing to do.
The storm hasn't even hit the Florida peninsula yet. But with the high winds and heavy rain and storm surges, the destruction can still be major.
Statements like they "were unnecessary" are Monday morning, armchair quarterbacking after the fact. It's easy to look back and say that but before the storm hits land or passes by, not so much.
Fox has an info babe on. Shes at Juno Beach....looking all alone & windy & rain. Ooops....camera pans to a crowd on the beach enjoying the waves. There is a fine line between hyping things for ratings & genuine reporting. I dont know what that line is. But, its going to get people killed by not reporting the truth.
