How in the world did the cops ever find anyone’s house before GPS?

Simply put, before we had cops that were allowed to use their brains to perform a task.

Now, if it ain't in the wall high manuals or online training then it did not happen.

Truly sad that we’re this suspicious of our law enforcement apparatus.

When we are treated like mushrooms by law enforcement, kept in the daek and fed $#!t, what else can you expect?
When any criticism of law enforcement is met with accusations of membership in or support of Black Lives Matter, what else can you expect?
When we are the "them" in law enforcement's "Us against them" mindset, what else can you expect?

But yes...yes it is "Truly sad that we’re this suspicious of our law enforcement apparatus."

The stopped him by ramming him in the location of the theater, doesn’t mean his goal was to shoot up the theater though. Seemed like he was happy to shoot at cops that were shooting back while driving around until he stopped shooting and got pitted and rammed.

Then summarily killed.

but cops couldn’t find his house on account of it having no GPS address or electricity.

They couldn't find house of the woman who reported him either, because that section of town was invisible to GPS, satellites and normal human vision.

She actually lived in another country, nowhere near the guy who threatened her in person.

His neighbors called the cops on him. His NEIGHBORS. How in the hell could the cops not find his house if his NEIGHBORS called the cops on him and they know that he shot animals from his rooftop?

His neighbors obviously lived in another country, probably Elbonia, which has no GPS or maps or streets.

And the addresses that are there aren’t always located in the correct spot.

Considering the lay out of that country it’s pretty easy to believe. With the oil still churning here in the Permian Basin little mom and pop trailer parks are all over the place. If you have an acre of land you can probably 10 to 12 on it, those will bring in about 4000 to 5000 a month. We’re talking just parking, no utilities. It’s a maze of roads out there in West Odessa from the oil fields, ad in this and it just gets worse. Many of these roads have no signage and no mapping. You just better know where your going.

I agree.

The whole claim we shouldn't mention his name because these people want notoriety is ridiculously false.

This appears to be a spur of the moment event. It doesn't seem planned. He doesn't seem to be emulating any other mass shooter.

And the idea we shouldn't try to find a motive because this is just pure evil is absurd as well.

To prevent these things from happening again we need to know what motivates these people.

One common thread seems to be anger; either long-term build-up or explosive anger.

Maybe one way to cut down on these events is to give people an outlet for their anger. If people aren't allowed to say, 'I'm angry at this or that' and why, their frustration reaches a breaking point.

100% correct.

I’d love to be able to go to a townhall event with the President and be able to say to him....Mr President the American people are grown up enough to handle the truth, it’s about time you, Congress and the unelected/unnamed bureaucrats are reminded that all you work for us. We want to know everything. We’ll deal with it and we’ll survive.

Won’t mean squat, but it’d be nice to get it out there.

Exactly.

Every time these shooting events happen, the stories THEY put out there get more and more outlandish, in their attempts to cover stuff up.

How do you say that 2 of his neighbors complained about him, they saw him shooting off his roof(which would be pretty loud) and sleeping in his car because it was cold? Who in the hell comes up with stories like that?

And miraculously, the cops that work the area can’t find the guys house but somehow, the Super Sleuths at the FBI can find it. We’re living in an alternate reality.

You would have to see that area, it was pasture land and oilfields back when I started in the business. Even then it was a maze of roads. Now that land is being overrun with travel trailers all looking for a place to park. Some have utilities and some don’t, I can see why they couldn’t find it. Possibility the lady who called in couldn’t tell you what road she lived on. Once you get off the pavement it’s a whole new world.

Those lazy cops should be fired. How did anyone find their backsides before gps was invented? Call the lady back. Call the post office. Call the city planner. Call the county clerk. Call the tv cable, phone and electric company.

From what I’ve read, he was shooting people while stopped at signal lights. Why weren’t the cops able to take him out at stop lights? Did they just tootle along behind him for an hour?

It’s been reported when DPS tried to pull him over he didn’t stop and somehow was able to shot and hit one of the troopers while still driving. I’m assuming the troopers had to still be inside their car and driving as well or the report is wrong. That’s some Wild Bill Hickok shooting.

I want to know why the cops didn’t put an end to this when he hijacked the mail SUV. He had to have stopped his whatever foreign made vehicle, get out, walk over to the mail lady, dump her body out and get on his way again. That takes time. I’m going to assume she was stopped so he didn’t have to somehow force her to stop but that would take even more time so where the heck were the cops during all that?

His address was on the property tax rolls. I tried to find it on google maps but google didn’t have the street. What’s weird, the property tax had a yahoo map icon link. I have never seen such. Yahoo, surprise!, was down due to technical difficulties. Yeah, just a coinky dink.

Doubt any of these maps would have had any trouble finding him at the time the neighbor reported him from her or a dozen other sources online or by phone call to local agencies.

Which is why people have zero trust in local or federal LEOs.

“”A mail carrier or a pizza delivery guy would get in a lot of trouble.””

The accumulation of some of these comments has got me laughing, so this isn’t directed at just you. This is West Texas, that particular area is just rolling flats with very little development other oilfield. You can drive miles and never cross a paved road but you hit side roads and cross roads, none will have a sign. Some of us live far enough out of town that we just have a PO Box and make the mail run couple of times a week. If I want a pizza I have to drive 11 miles up to a main rd and meet them. In this area I’m pretty safe in saying there’s more roads not on the map than there are on it.

He most likely was targeted because his ex boss reported he was coming to kill him.
