But speed probably played a part in it. If it was one of those hemi Cudas with the Hurst 4 speed, it may be a little too much car for the driver - especially on that road at night. The road is 2 lane, unlit and hilly with lots of tight corners. I thrash my Kawasaki on it frequently

Apologies for the double post. I think I got impatient and hit the button twice.
OOPS, mea culpa.

My brother in law drove for Safelight delivering windshields. They can replace just about any automotive glass, even the early Barracuda's rear windows. But it ain't cheap. Could of been worse, like the 1959-1960 GM 4-door hardtops, aka "flat tops".
I know someone who had to replace one on a 59 Buick Electra he was restoring. He and someone else had to resort to GENTLY pound it with 20 lb sandbags to make it fit in the seal, which was another big PITA to install.

I’m guessing it had air bags if they showed up at the hospital later with sore backs. From the article, was it even an actual 1970 Cuda? Or just a hand-made car made to look like one? It talked about carbon-fiber panels, modernized interior, etc.

"Uh Oh, if the rear windshield broke, good luck trying to find one." I'm restoring the 1965 Formula "S" Barracuda that I ordered in early 1965. It turns out that there are far more of the 14.5 sq ft rear widows left than there are cars. Apparently, before the cars were crushed, the junkyard guys salvaged the rear windows, thinking, "Those things will be worth big $$$ some day."

I thrash my Kawasaki on it frequently As I did a variety of bikes from an RD-350 to a FZR-1000. Two decades of canyon fun, and a couple crashes.
Major disappointment moving back to Ventura county after six years in San Diego. All the best roads suddenly had 35 mph limits where basic speed law was enforced before.
McMansions everwhere. The Hollyweird rich destroyed my old playground.

I wonder if he will sell me the tail lights. You don’t have his phone number by chance?
