I read that Republic was mulling over declaring itself a 2nd Amendment Sanctuary city/town. The mayor, sheriff, council etc. were looking into not enforcing ANY of the state AND Federal gun laws.
A quick search only turned up those old articles, so I guess they didn’t. They DID decide not to enforce many/all of the new state laws that are unconstitutional.
Republic is a beautiful little town in the mountains. I liked to spend the night there on my summer forays into eastern Washington.
