This was a reckless attempt to slander our family and smear a great company. Apologies are not enough when the true intent was solely to damage and cause harm. As a company, we will be taking legal action. This unethical behavior has to stop. @Lawrence @MSNBC https://t.co/i4X6CcdkCm— Eric Trump (@EricTrump) August 29, 2019

Stop lying, Lawrence. Your job, as you understand it, is to sow doubt about the GOP. Truth? What’s ‘truth’ got to do with it?
You are just following orders.

"We don’t know whether the information is inaccurate.

But, the fact is, we do know it wasn’t ready for broadcast, and for that, I apologize.”

Doesn't sound like much of an apology to me. It sounds more like he still thinks it's accurate but for legal reasons he has to make this non-apology apology.

Should be fired, today, now. An apology is simply not enough. If MSNBC has a shred of integrity, firing is the only adequate response.

“Last night, on this show, I discussed information that wasn’t ready for reporting ...”

In other words, “I am incompetent.”

There.

Anybody remember Lawrence O'Donnell's "liar liar liar" debate with John O'Neill in 2004? He was not allowed back on MSNBC for several months after that episode.

Their lawyers heard the ice cracking under the stupid SOB who spewed lies and told the accounts just how much they stood to lose in a libel suit. From there the crap rolled down hill til it hit the SOB responsible.

The the jerk hasn't been fired is proof that he's another professional liar paid by wealthier liars to try and destroy Trump.

Brennan, Comey, Clapper, Ben Rhodes, and McCabe have their swamp stink all around this. The closer they feel indictments may be coming the worse it’s going to get.

Just admit it asshole, you got caught telling lies and only the threat of litigation made you step forward and even now you are only giving a half hearted retraction.

This asshole is a liar, plain and simple.

I did not go through the rigorous verification and standards process here at MSNBC before repeating what I heard from my source.

Did he say that with a straight face? Did he crack a smile?

If he managed to get through that with a straight face he should get one of those Golden Globe TV awards for acting.

This is like Harry who tells his five buddies that his ex-girlfriend, Heidi, slept with the football team.

His buddies tell their friends and acquaintances who tell their friends and acquaintances.

A few days later, Harry admits to his five friends that he made up the story because Heidi had broken up with him.

Do you think Harry's friends tell their friends and acquaintances, who tell their friends and acquaintances, and so on?

Of course not.

O'Donnell and MSNBC know full-well that the damage is done. That was the goal.

A man of integrity would be greatly burdened by the injustice he has inflicted on an innocent person. He would take drastic steps to right this wrong.

O'Donnell should resign at the very least. Or MSNBC should fire him.

“...We don’t know whether the information is inaccurate. But, the fact is, we do know it wasn’t ready for broadcast, and for that, I apologize...”

Weaselly scum apology. Should be sued anyway.

He is apologizing for not using the network’s “rigorous verification and standards process”. He did not apologize to President Donald Trump or to his family.

The only reason he is issuing his non-apology apology is because the Trump family fights back and is willing to take it to court. Had this attack been against the Bush family, there would be no need to worry.
