Don’t these people have faucets in their house?

Funny. I kind of asked him the same thing. He said “Oh, we just drink bottled water.” I told him, worse comes to worst, they could always boil the city water and drink THAT. It’s very weird. Sometimes I think people are looking for things to freak out about.

And with overnight door service from Walmart and Amazon you can order your flashlight and batteries and bottled water and generator and have it on your doorstep Saturday Morning.

“they could always boil the city water and drink THAT. “

It’s 90 degrees out with 90% humidity. How you going to boil city water when the power’s out? And would you want to drink contaminated water that’s been boiled and is hot? And who wants to heat up the house with the A/C off? W/o a gas stove, what, boil it outside with a pot on the grill? With the all mosquitoes? Then haul a hot pot of water into the already hot house?

When the power goes out and the generator isn’t enough to run the A/C it’s all about keeping the humdity down inside the house. There’s a huge difference between 80 degrees at 40% humidity and 80 degrees at 90% humidity. Who can sleep when they’re soaking in sweat?

Nah, acquiring clean drinking water beforehand and securing it inside w/ the A/C before power failure is what most Floridians do.

We also take old jugs, fill them with water and stuff them into the freezer to keep food frozen longer after power failure when a generator isn’t avaialable.

I like to stock up at Taco Bell or similar and put it in the fridge so I don’t have to cook and heat up the house when on the generator.
