They made chop suey of the health regulations. Just hours after being busted for washing down kitchen equipment in a local lake, a Chinese restaurant was open for business.

Employees of No. 1 Chinese Restaurant in suburban Nashville, Tenn., were caught washing everything from pots and rags to grill tops at a boat dock at nearby Old Hickory Lake — a popular recreation spot — NewsChannel5 reported.

A series of videos showing the restaurant’s organic approach to food safety was shared first on Facebook and then with the health department, which quickly sent an inspector to the scene Tuesday.

Back in the Seventies I worked summers between college terms at a newspaper as a proofreader and then in preparing layouts for the printers. The shift was from about 4 pm to 1 am and we frequently bopped next door to the Chinese restaurant for dinner. One late night I was out back in the common alley and saw a large barrel outside the restaurant back door labeled “Horse meat—not fit for human consumption”. Last time I ate there.

Their explanation was it was a drain that collected a lot of grease, and they wanted to wash it somewhere where that grease wasn’t going down their drain.

A couple years ago, a Chinese restaurant in our area was busted for hauling a carcass of dead deer off a local highway, into their restaurant for butchering.

In Tucson, a worker (illegal likely) at a Mexican restuarant was caught pooping in a vacant lot next door. He then went right in to start working.

Illegal crosses often poop in dressing rooms of clothing stores. Thanks to all RINOS and DEMS and all open borders friends and neighbors

While I was living in Savannah years ago, a popular chain of Mexican restaurants was closed by the local health inspector. A number of diners had reported adverse health effects after eating at one or more of the three venues. The health department determined that the viral infection the diners had ingested was only present in two species: African green monkeys and common domestic dogs. Chapter 11 reorganization followed shortly thereafter.

Same here at all local Chinese Restaurant due infestation of Cockroaches (alive, dead or nest). I lost my appetite for eating out due to this. Now roaches have moved on to Sandwich Shops and Mexican Restaurants.

You would be shocked how many restaurants have never seen the health department. They have very few inspectors so they limit their drive time to restaurants near their offices. If your favorite restaurant is more than 30 miles from the office, it’s a good bet it is rarely inspected if ever.

I recently took an excursion boat tour in southern China. So did thousands of Chinese, all on the same day. I could see in each of the dozens of boats ahead of us, there was a steady stream of water out the back of the boats from a hose at least two inches in diameter. It obviously was pumped river water. This water was used for washing the food, dishes, hands, and even the back of the boat where the food was prepared. The cook would wash a handful of fresh vegetables, and then bring them to the tables at the front of the boat.

Fortunately, our Chinese host recommended that we eat nothing but cooked food. I politely declined everything after the word "nothing".

“Sanitation provided with traditional and artisanal methods in micro-batches.”

Hell they could charge extra to wash the plates and pans in a lake and some loons would only eat there. “I only eat in establishments that lake-wash.”
