“The amazon rain forest is at least 130,000 years old”

Except the parts that contained cities and farmland just a few hundred years ago and have been recently detected by satellites. SURPRISE! Farmland CAN turn back into rainforest.

No surprise - early Spanish explorers reported cities of 100s of thousands - all of which were wiped out by the diseases of the explorers - death toll was estimated to be in the millions. All those ancient cities have returned to rain forest leaving only patches of terra preta to mark were they once existed.

I believe President Trump caused these fires by purposefully flying AF1 low over the rainforest with its afterburners blazing!!! Impeach now!

I just read a meme that said that US farmers cultivating corn put more oxygen into the atmosphere than three Amazon Rain forests.

I think impulsive, violent over-reaction is their default setting. They don’t trust themselves with firearms, and think we can’t be trusted with them either.

In Honduras the sugar cane farmers set fire to their fields just prior to harvesting in order to eliminate the undergrowth and leaves from the canes.

The fire also drives out the rats and poisonous snakes...........

Once the fires are done, the sugar plants send in their workers who cut down the cane stalks by hand with their machetes........

I've heard that farmers annually burn off the undergrowth, and judging from the nets coverage, that's what's happening. An occasional palm tree flares and burns, but there is no thick rain forest.....mostly grasses, long ago cleared for planting or grazing.

1ST RULE:

BELIEVE NOTHING YOU SEE FROM MAINSTREAM MEDIA.
