I also probably should mention that if, as I’m stopped in a handicapped space, and the last free one is taken by someone, I leave the space. I only stay in it as long as there is at least one empty handicapped space other than the one I’m stopped in.
I also only do this once every few years.;)
I hear what you are saying but as you stated, even with those empty spaces around you, you still got hassled by a busybody. Speaking for myself, these are the kind of unforced confrontations that I wish to avoid. It’s kind of like going through the express lane at the supermarket with 11 items when it’s 10 or less. While the cashier would never say anything, I’m worried about the old biddy in back of me who has been patiently waiting the entire day to lecture somebody about something!
