Liu, speaking at a tech conference in southwest Chinas Chongqing, said nobody benefited from a trade war.
We are willing to resolve the issue through consultations and cooperation in a calm attitude and resolutely oppose the escalation of the trade war, Liu, who is President Xi Jinpings top economic adviser, said, according to a government transcript.
We believe that the escalation of the trade war is not beneficial for China, the United States, nor to the interests of the people of the world, he added.
U.S. companies are especially welcome in China, and will be treated well, Liu said.
We welcome enterprises from all over the world, including the United States, to invest and operate in China, he added.
We will continue to create a good investment environment, protect intellectual property rights, promote the development of smart intelligent industries with our market open, resolutely oppose technological blockades and protectionism, and strive to protect the completeness of the supply chain.

Excuse the foul assessment, but they thought that President Trump would roll over and take it in the rear like every other American President and diplomat that they have screwed over. Will President Trump get any credit for beating the commie bastards at their own game? Not in the mainstream media, but he is truly looking out for the best interests on the United States.
Pardon the French.
Those who suggest this will take a year-long in talks....are absolutely wrong. Every day that this is unsettled....more and more production leaves China for Taiwan, Philippines, and Vietnam. I don’t think this will take more than three weeks to iron out, and some agreement signed. The recession may still occur, but this really lessened it by 50-percent, if the deal comes through.
Well said.
Well, Mr. Liu I think I see part of the problem right here. You don't and you won't.
You lie.
Go President Trump!!!
Media blinks.
According to fake news machine, China has blinked 12 times since the trade war started.
IMO it’s too late now.
If they wanted fair terms, they should have accepted them when those terms were offered, then adhered to them.
“Fair trade terms with China” is no longer a sufficient national objective. They clearly have it out for us and have made themselves our enemy.
The goal I would now seek as the end of foreign policy is to destroy the economy of China and return them to where they were before they started feeding off our flesh and blood, with the ultimate objective of ending Communism there.
This once, Lucy’s gonna keep the ball planted for Charlie Brown. Yeah! That’s the ticket.
...and that is unforgivable and must be punished.

Heh those dates are coming. They know what’s at stake.
First tier is September 15?
[Not in the mainstream media, but he is truly looking out for the best interests on the United States.]
Yes he is. Which puts him opposite Democrats and Chamber-of-Commerce Open-Borders RINO Republicans.
Like Jeb!
Jeb! the Stalking Horse Boosh, that is.
