Former Congressman Joe Walsh officially announced his candidacy for the 2020 Republican nomination today, vowing to defeat incumbent President Donald J. Trump.
"Friends, I'm in. We can't take four more years of Donald Trump. And that's why I'm running for President. It won't be easy, but bravery is never easy," Walsh tweeted. "But together, we can do it."
"We have someone in the White House who we all know is unfit. Someone who lies virtually every time he opens his mouth," he stated in his campaign video. "We cannot afford four more years."
Since exiting Congress, Walsh has been in the news for his outspoken criticism of President Trump, previous tweets claiming former President Obama is a Muslim, and being pranked by Sacha Baron Cohen into showing support for arming kindergarten students with guns.
Walsh claims he was tricked into showing support for a made-up Israeli defense program titled "The Kindergaurdians." He was invited by Cohen's team to accept a phony award, and was asked to sit down for an interview. He was told to read from a teleprompter that the program was "an example of how Israel trains and arms preschool kids on how to use firearms, and boy shouldn’t we do that in America?”
In an interview on CNN regarding that stunt, Michael Smerconish asked, "Did an alarm go off in your head, congressman?"
"It did," Walsh answered, "but it was too late."
He joins former Massachusetts governor Bill Weld in challenging the president on the GOP side.
Bet his parents will vote Trump though.

I’m only 48 and completely agree. How is this “brave”? If you’re a coward this is precisely the right time to declare. He’s not going to be harassed like PDJT. If anything the media will fawn over him. This is just narcissistic. He doesn’t have a chance, this is just to raise his profile.

you are so correct ... so i do hope Trump ignores this fool who is zero threat to Trump, because after Joe’s announcement honeymoon with the dying lying leftist fake stream enemedia, the ONLY publicity Walsh is gonna get is if Trump mentions his name ... if/when asked about Walsh, Trump should say something like: “I thought Joe’s last name is Biden.”

For that is where the problem originates and perpetuates.
My theory on that is this is the tactic that the GOP used to destroy the Tea Party.
It infiltrated it by running and getting elected false conservatives. The effect of this was to remove all wind from the sails of Tea Party people when it became painfully obvious that regardless of who we elect, the results will be the same. Essentially, our vote is futile.
Our response to this was President Donald J. Trump.
Walsh is legend in his own mind. I used to listen to him. He would start his show this way: “Hey, everybody. Joe Walsh here. Former....CONGRESSMAN...Joe Walsh.” After he fails at his presidential run, if he goes back on their air, or if he winds up a “conservative” commentator on CNN, etc., he’ll be able to add, “Former...PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE...Joe Walsh.”
People like him remind me of a scene from the movie, “Glory.” Denzel Washington, Morgan Freeman, and Jihmi Kennedy have just signed up with the 54th Massachusetts, and are getting acquainted in their tent. Each tells his story. Washington’s character had run off from a plantation in Tennessee a year or so previously.
Kennedy’s character asks him, “So what you been doing since you run off?”
Washington says, “I been runnin’ for president.”
Kennedy and Freeman give each other a confused look.
Washington says, “I didn’t win, though.”
Joe Walsh is not a conservative. He is a narcissistic, self serving, opportunist. When he thinks he is off mic on his radio show that no one listens to, he is aggressively verbally abusive to his radio staff. Horrid candidate and fake conservative.
And the worst president ever.
