Fair questions. There’s plenty of acreage on military bases in California (and elsewhere), you would just need to build the housing. I’m envisioning temporary barracks. I’m sure the military has plans for what would happen in the case of a major outbreak of an infectious disease in big cities like Los Angeles. Just do that now, as a preventative measure, instead of waiting for it to happen.

“Just do that now, as a preventative measure, instead of waiting for it to happen.”

The problem is already here. The state, just like mine, is already overwhelmed with homelessness and the crimes and ugly it brings.

I’m curious....this problem is one for the states to fix as they got themselves into it either through support of immigration we can’t obviously handle, or the hiding of illegals to keep them from being deported. We finally got the instigator of a lot of it out of office with the end of the Obama administration and its damaging of many things within the states and world. We finally have a president that is trying to do something about it that he can do, and the states like California and Washington State continue to accommodate the existence and the promotion of the growing problem fighting him every inch of the way.

Firstly, the feds cannot come in and do something without getting permission from the states. And courts have set up a protection from almost anyone with the interpretation of the Equal Protection Clause within the text of the Fourteenth Amendment to the United States Constitution which took effect in 1868, provides “nor shall any State [...] deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws”. And anyone standing on this soil is considered in most cases within that jurisdiction. So as they are not an invasion, Trump’s hands are tied.

And the states cannot use a federal reservation for this purpose so they will have to pay for the construction of this housing from the state’s coffers if they are going to provide adequate housing on land they own. And they still don’t admit there is a problem as by doing that they are admitting to having to control illegal immigration and that would be a blow to their voting base. Don’t hold your breath on that one.
