I absolutely can’t stand smarmy narcissistic people like Mann. He’s a perfect example of the type of person whose mother told him he was special, and who got pushed to go to an Ivy. Some of the dumbest, most destructive people in society are products of this same type of background. I know tons of postdocs who are brighter and more trustworthy than this clown. That he has any stature at all in US and world science is testimony to how far science has fallen.
It’s a damning indictment of Penn State that they’re defending him.
My kid attended Penn State and wandered into one of Mann’s lectures, not knowing anything about him. Rambling, ill-prepared and totally nonsensical.
