That's something Biden made up and McConnell cited it as an excuse. He didn't give Garland a hearing because he didn't want Obama to fill it. If you think for one moment that if McConnell is Senate Majority Leader in August of 2024 and Trump has a chance to fill a Supreme Court that McConnell won't ram it through just as fast as he can then you're naïve.
