McConnell has clearly stated that if there is a vacancy, he will move to fill it. The problem is with the Senate Judiciary Committee chair Lindsey Graham, who says he will not push a nominee through in 2020. We will see if Graham can be brought to heel.
Graham is up for re-election he WILL BE brought to heel!!!
My memory from the Kavanaugh hearings and others, is that a vote in the Judiciary Committee is not required. The Senate Majority Leader’s prerogative to bring it to the full Senate without a Judiciary Committee vote. In fact, my memory is that even if it is voted down in the Committee, the nomination may still be brought to the floor. Anyone know for sure?
