which was mainly about slavery...

No it wasn't. It was about who was going to control the economic output of the South, Before the War, Lincoln bent over backwards to protect Southern slavery. What he would not do was to let them run their own affairs and control their own trade.

The wealthy elite in New York (his backers) had Southern trade rigged to flow through their pockets through laws passed by their majority coalition in Congress, and so they wanted to keep that sweet sweet slavery money flowing into New York. (And Washington DC)

And *THAT* is what the war was really about.

You are correct, sir, about the economic reasons for the Civil War, and who instigated it!

As time goes on, truth emerges. The truth is not taught in our common cultural history. It never was, and looking at history it seems it never will be.

However, men like you are digging into history, and little by little pieces are brought out. The truth is, all our traitors are driven by their economic greed and lust. Look at those that want unlimited illegal immigration. It is a quick fix for their imagined excessive labor costs.

Quite frankly, I believe we must re-write history, bringing in facts that people like you have dug out of the mess that our intellectual and educational elites have worked for centuries to bury.

Well played, sir.
